Each of these mini-stitchings were conceived and embroidered during our long hours in the tour van. I had the idea of creating images and/or small captured slices of the songs and lyrical moments on this album in a manner that was tactile,handmade, a little bit gritty, and hopefully a little bit beautiful too . As we piled in the van for a long path of touring, I packed my embroidery case full of linen, colorful threads, and a notepad filled with sketches. Each piece in this series is dear to my heart and attempts to capture a little corner of this record. This is my first attempt, featuring the album title and the beloved Morran from our album cover. Each piece is embroidered on 100% French Linen and is enclosed with a 100% cotton fabric backing. Each hoop is hand stained, signed, dated, and numbered. Since I don't know how many of these I plan to make, I have numbered them uniquely, i.e. 1, 2, 3 , etc.

This is the second addition to my O Tall Tree in the Ear embroidery series. Designed from my own drawings and hand-stitched lettering, this mini-stitching features an anatomical rendering of the human heart with the song title, and a sparkle of silver thread for the "thumping" effect. This was a lot of fun to do and I think the next version will feature and even bigger heart. Maybe they will just get larger, and larger, and larger....
