Hmmmm, today mostly listening to Heather Nova and her 2009 album the Jasmine Flower, one of those albums that you sit up and take notice of every single lyric she sings. Beautiful.
Check out Keegan DeWitt....Randy Newman writing catchy, aching pop songs about loss and love (in that order) with beautiful string arrangements and clean production. http://www.keegandewitt.com/.
Dear Anna-Lea Kate Perhaps you didn't get the previous memo, you are no longer allowed to run this house. You must take naps and go to and stay in your bed. Here's hoping tomorrow is a new day. Much Love Mommy.
is listening to Elliott "False Cathedrals" - i never liked this album (or "emo" in general for the most part)... but listening now, almost 10 years later (yikes) i feel oddly nostalgic, and kind of like it... i saw them play live back in 2000, right after this record came out. The Weakerthans opened, and stole the night. (in my opinion) how time flies!
Music. I had a good violin lesson today--didn't even play. My teacher and I just listened to music to figure out dominant chords, keys, changes. I had no idea this kind of understanding would mean anything to me. Music theory and and Solfege with shifting or stable dos still doesn't quite click, but there is an intuitive thing in me that does understand it. It was fun, even if it doesn't sound it.
seriously... I got a ticket for expired plates. Ok I got the car in march and. the registration was only for 6 months. WTF?... yes they expired in october... I'm such th rebel.... I hear this how Al Capone got started...
